Lore Mode guide for CNSD Reborn
Wave-by-wave survival through all 25 rounds to earn the Playtester badge.
Lore Mode is the first and currently the only game mode in CNSD Reborn on Roblox. It throws 25 waves of enemies at you while following the game’s storyline, with boss encounters at Wave 5, Wave 10, and Wave 25. The mode is the reason the Playtester badge exists — reach Wave 25 before Update #1 and you lock it in. This page covers the full arc from spawn to the final boss, with tips for every milestone checkpoint.
How Lore Mode works
Lore Mode runs in a 15-player server. You fight through waves of Noob enemies that grow in number and toughness as you progress. Boss enemies appear at specific milestones:
- Wave 5 — first boss encounter
- Wave 10 — second major boss
- Wave 25 — final boss and Playtester badge trigger
Between bosses, the waves alternate between standard Noob spawns and heavier variants like Heavy Noob and Ninja Noob. The pace picks up significantly after Wave 15, which is where most public lobbies start losing players.
The mode does not have a separate difficulty selector — the single track is the track. Private server mechanics for practice runs are worth exploring if you want to farm specific waves without the full server chaos.
Starting the mode
Join a server and look for the Lore Mode entrance in the lobby. The mode starts automatically once enough players have loaded in. If you are joining mid-session, you will spawn into whatever wave the lobby is currently on — this is normal for public playtests.
Your spawn loadout is the default Dummy plus whatever is in the starter pack. Do not spend coins before Wave 1 starts unless you are confident in the shop items available.
Wave 1–4: Learning the rhythm
Early waves are a tutorial dressed as combat. Noobs arrive in small groups with basic attacks. Use these rounds to practice:
- The four-hit M1 melee chain (Left Mouse Button)
- Blocking overheads and grabs with F
- Sprinting between packs on Left Shift
- Your positioning relative to the lane
These four waves are not dangerous on their own. They are dangerous if you spend them farming a single pack while three other lanes collapse behind you. Keep your camera moving and check your flanks.
Wave 5: First boss
Wave 5 introduces the first boss. This is a significant difficulty spike. The boss has more health and hits harder than standard Noobs. Recommended approach:
- Save your Awaken (G) for the boss encounter
- Have a Heavy or tanky unit on the choke point
- Do not waste the starter pack items (Laser Gun, Bloxy Cola) before this wave
- If your lobby is struggling, focus on supporting the tank rather than dealing damage
The first boss is a checkpoint. If your server clears it, the pace until Wave 10 is manageable. If your server wipes here, requeuing is faster than soloing the remainder.
Wave 6–9: Economy phase
Between the first and second bosses, waves scale in enemy count. This is where coin economy matters — you want to be buying your first meaningful unit (Heavy, Jetpack, or Rocket Dummy) before Wave 10 hits. Continuing on starter Dummy past Wave 8 in a public lobby is risky because your damage output will lag behind the scaling.
Watch for:
- Increasing numbers of Heavy Noobs
- Faster spawn rates
- Clustered packs that require splash or area abilities
Wave 10: Second boss
Wave 10 is the second major checkpoint. The boss here is tougher than Wave 5, and the surrounding Noob adds are more numerous. By this point you should:
- Have at least one meaningful unit purchased
- Understand whether your current dummy can hold a lane against this level of adds
- Have used Awaken at least once in earlier waves to feel the timing
- Keep Bloxy Cola ready for emergency recovery
This is also the wave where coordinated lobbies start assigning lane roles. In public play, communicate in text chat if you can — call out when you are rotating and when a lane needs backup.
Wave 11–24: The grind
The stretch between Wave 10 and Wave 25 is the longest and least documented part of the mode. Waves increase in difficulty but the pace is manageable if:
- Your unit can handle adds without dying repeatedly
- You are not spending Potential (P%) recklessly
- Your lobby maintains enough players to cover all lanes
Deaths cost you 5 P% each time. If you are dying frequently, consider switching to a more defensive unit. The titan roster has options if you have saved enough coins.
The Wave 25 Playtester badge guide goes deep on economy, revive discipline, and how to read a lobby that cannot block. That guide assumes you are already inside this wave range.
Wave 25: Final boss
Wave 25 is the final challenge and the trigger for the Playtester badge. The boss here is the largest and most dangerous in the mode. This is not a wave you clear with default Dummy and good intentions.
Preparation checklist before entering Wave 25:
- At least one titan purchased and functional
- Awaken available (not on cooldown)
- Bloxy Cola unused or available
- P% at or near 100 if you plan to transform
- A lobby with at least 5–6 active players
If you are badge hunting solo or in a small group, read the Wave 25 badge guide before you queue. The guide covers respawn timing, cola usage, and how to recover from a lobby wipe at Wave 20.
Lore Mode and the Playtester badge
The Playtester badge is tied directly to Lore Mode completion. You must reach Wave 25 before Update #1 ships. After Update #1, the badge closes and the requirement may change. This makes Lore Mode the most time-sensitive content in the playtest.
The badge is rare — approximately 5.8% of players who have visited the experience have earned it. That rarity is not because the mode is impossibly hard; it is because most players do not reach Wave 25 in a competent lobby before the update lands.
Lore Mode tips summary
- Practice M1 chain and block timing in Waves 1–4
- Buy a meaningful unit before Wave 10
- Save Awaken for boss encounters
- Keep P% high; deaths cost 5% each
- Communicate with public lobby players in text
- Read the Wave 25 badge guide before your first serious attempt
The embedded solo run video shows one player’s approach to clearing the mode. Individual strategies vary based on unit choice, lobby coordination, and personal skill. Use it as a reference point, not a script.
